my dad's chocolate chip cookies
Ingredients:

1/2 cup unsalted butter 8 ounces room temperature

1/2 cup brown sugar 200 grams

1/2 cup granulated sugar 200 grams

1 large egg
-
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 325 grams
-
1/2 teaspoon baking soda 5 grams
-
1/4 teaspoon salt 3 grams
-
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 5 grams

1 cup coarsely crushed potato chips 113 grams (4 ounces)

1 cup chocolate chips 340 grams

Instructions:

Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, cream together the room temperature (not melted!) butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Cream for 2-3 minutes.

Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Mix for 1 minute or until well combined.

Add in the flour, salt, and baking soda. Mix until combined.

Mix in the potato chips and chocolate chips.

Roll the dough into 1" balls and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 350ºF.

Add extra crushed potato chips on top for presentation.

Bake for about 11 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly brown around the edges.
